Suspension of On-arrival visa in Sri Lanka due to the COVID-19 outbreak

The On-arrival Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) facility for foreigners arriving in Sri Lanka through Normal / Ordinary passports are temporarily suspended from 14th March 2020, 12 pm (Sri Lankan time) until further notice except for the ETA exempted countries Maldives, Singapore and Seashells.
 

This decision is not valid for Diplomatic, Official and service passport holders.
 

Please be further informed that foreigners who intend to visit Sri Lanka for purposes deemed necessary are required to secure visa prior to their arrival in Sri Lanka, through the following channels:

1. Online through the ETA website – www.eta.gov.lk
2. Respective Sri Lanka Diplomatic Missions and Posts
3. Head Office of the Department of Immigration & Emigration
